Getting Started
What is Theme Testing?
Theme Testing in TestSignal lets you compare different versions of your Shopify storefront — layouts, templates, colors, navigation, sections, or entire theme styles — to see which version drives better conversions, engagement, and revenue.
Whether you’re testing a redesigned homepage, a new product page layout, a refreshed collection grid, or even a full theme upgrade, Theme Testing helps you validate your design decisions with real customer behavior instead of guesswork.
How does it work?
TestSignal safely injects your theme variations on the frontend without duplicating your entire theme or forcing you to publish multiple versions. You create (or edit) your theme changes inside Shopify, assign each version to a test group, and TestSignal handles the switching automatically.
How can I get started?
Running your first Theme test with TestSignal is super easy. To get started, you’ll need to enable the TestSignal extension in your theme. Simply go to your Shopify Online Store and click Customize, then navigate to the App Embeds section. Locate the TestSignal app toggle, turn it on, and save your changes. Once this is done, your first experiment is ready to roll!
Prefer a hands-off approach? TestSignal can handle the integration for you. Simply book a demo with our team so we can learn about your store and get everything set up.
