Getting Started
What is Price Testing?
Price Testing is the process of showing different product prices to different groups of shoppers to learn which price point drives the best performance — whether that’s higher conversion rate, stronger revenue, or increased profit.
With TestSignal, you can safely test multiple price variations without manually updating your store. Each visitor is automatically bucketed into a test group, and TestSignal tracks key metrics like conversion rate, AOV, revenue per visitor, and profit impact — giving you data you can trust before making any big pricing decisions.
How does it work?
For all Shopify stores, TestSignal displays the correct price across your storefront by dynamically updating the page using DOM manipulation based on each user’s assigned test group. Once your test is live, TestSignal ensures the correct price (and compare-at price if enabled) is shown to each shopper and reflected accurately in the cart and at checkout — all without requiring theme edits or relying on Shopify’s native APIs.
What You Can Do With Price Testing
- Test higher or lower price points to measure price sensitivity
- Compare multiple price variations across one or more products
- Run tests on entire collections or selected top-selling items
- Combine price tests with Compare-At pricing experiments
- Validate whether discounts improve conversions or just hurt margin
How can I get started?
Running your first price test with TestSignal is super easy. To get started, you’ll need to enable the TestSignal extension in your theme. Simply go to your Shopify Online Store and click Customize, then navigate to the App Embeds section. Locate the TestSignal app toggle, turn it on, and save your changes. Once this is done, your first experiment is ready to roll!
Prefer a hands-off approach? TestSignal can handle the integration for you. Simply book a demo with our team so we can learn about your store and get everything set up.
