Profit View

The Profit View shows how much actual profit your experiment generates — not just revenue. Visitor counts vary depending on the type of test, ensuring profit is calculated accurately.

Total Visitor Count Calculation

  • Price, Image & Description Tests:Total visitors = Product visitors (only visitors to the targeted products)
  • Theme & Layout Tests:Total visitors = Store visitors
  • Shipping Tests:Total visitors = Checkout visitors (visitors who reached checkout)

Profit per Site Visitor (PPV)

What it shows: How much profit you earn per qualified visitor, based on the experiment type.
Formula: Units Sold × Original Product Price

Gross Sales

What it shows: Revenue actually collected after discounts and returns.
Formula: Gross Sales − Discounts − Returns

Gross Margin (%)

What it shows: Percentage of revenue kept as profit after covering COGS.
Formula: (Net Sales − COGS) ÷ Net Sales × 100

Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)

What it shows: Total cost of the items sold during the experiment.
Formula: Unit Cost × Units Sold
